Passionate about ethical travel?
Then a safari hosted by traditional Samburu nomads in Kenya that specialise in elephant-watching, is a great place to start.
Trained by research NGO, Save The Elephants, our guides are warriors from the local villages whose lives have been interwoven with wildlife since birth. They know 1000+ elephants individually by name, along with their families and life histories that span decades.
The elephants are so relaxed in their company, thanks to years of consistent, gentle etiquette, that you're welcomed into the heart of the herd. An experience guests describe as 'transformative'.

Scottish zoologist, Iain Douglas-Hamilton, reshaped our understanding of elephant society with a seminal study in the 1960s.
His wife, Oria, founded Elephant Watch Camp & Safaris in 2003 to share this remarkable perspective, and to recruit allies from around the world to help protect Africa's elephants.
With warrior-guides from the local nomadic community merging cutting-edge science with traditional expertise, our perspective is unique.
In moving scenes from award-winning films A Life Among Elephants, This Wild Life and Secret Life of Elephants, the remarkable legacy of conservationists, Iain & Oria Douglas-Hamilton, and their NGO, Save The Elephants, are recounted with love, humour and conviction by protégées, fellow scientists and family.

We'll extend your adventures far beyond Kenya's horizons, on safari exploring the wild homelands of Africa's most suprising and intelligent creatures. Boutique camps or lodges that protect the environment and respect wildlife are a must, likewise engaging in the most thoughtful way with traditional cultures.

We are partners with Save The Elephants (STE) to secure a future for Africa's elephants; sustain the beauty and ecological integrity of the places they live; promote man’s delight in their intelligence and diversity of their world; and foster tolerance between the two species.

Our people are mostly Samburu nomads from the Ewaso Ngiro river. Some have been to school and speak English, but many joined us directly from herding livestock. We're proudly pioneering a new genre of safari together to forge a better relationship with nature.
