Our Safaris

Into The Wild

Bespoke Safaris

Like the ancient elephant trails that criss-cross the continent, our safaris extend far beyond Samburu into some of Africa’s most remote and remarkable landscapes. We tend to favour the areas less travelled, where conservation-led tourism has real impact, and meaningful connections can be made with the land, the wildlife and the local people.

Each journey is thoughtfully curated with stays in boutique lodges or intimate camps that offer every comfort and a true sense of place; superb access to indigenous cultures; and profound encounters with the most surprising and intelligent of Africa's creatures. Arranged seamlessly by our team of experts, we'll ensure you have the safari of a lifetime.

Some ideas to inspire you

Our Favourite Adventures

While we focus mainly on East Africa, we've plenty of experience and connections in the south, west and centre of the continent too. We promise that comfort will never be compromised, the drinks shall be perfectly chilled and food delicious, with the absolute highlight of your African experience being the safari itself.

We've plenty of ideas to share with you - here are some of our favourites.

In the footsteps of the Douglas-Hamiltons

Elephant Extravaganza

From your first night in the wooden cabin of legendary conservationists, Iain & Oria Douglas-Hamilton, to their research base in Samburu and Elephant Watch Camp, then a visit to Sirocco wildlife sanctuary or close elephant allies in parks across Kenya, it's an all-in-one if you love pachyderms.

Safaris at a different pace

Nomadic Adventures

Cross the expansive Laikipia plateau on horseback, sleep under the stars, visit the cradle of mankind and swim in the Jade Sea. Or walk for days through the bush in the company of camels and nomads, via Samburu's most sacred places, for a timeless way of life that sets exactly the right pace for the soul.

Exploring sacred mountains

Sky Islands

Rising from an ocean of semi-arid desert, the sky island mountains of north Kenya have been isolated for millennia, preserving unique endemic species among plants once enjoyed by dinosaurs. Many are sacred sites for the nomadic people, that one can only access on foot or with a helicopter.

The ebb and flow of faunal rivers

Wild Migrations

Experience the great wildebeest migration, from the short grass plains of the Serengeti to the madcap annual race across the rounded hills of the Maasai Mara. Hounded by predators along the way - as powerful lion prides defend territories, leopards colonise riverbanks and cheetahs stalk the plains - there's never a dull moment.

Exploring hidden ecosystems

High Altitude Mountains

Climb East Africa's magnificent high altitude mountains from Kilimanjaro, Mt. Meru, Hanang or the active volcano Lengai in Tanzania, to the Mountains of the Moon, Virunga Volcanoes, and Mt Kenya. Then head off to explore Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti or the less visited reserves like Selous (Africa’s largest), Katavi or the Mahale mountains.

Going Ape

Gorillas in the Mist

Visit Rwanda’s ‘thousand hills’ for sublime encounters with gorillas or as guests of great ape researchers in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Uganda. Walk with chimpanzees in the Kibale Forest or Chambura Gorge in Uganda, or Mahale Mountains of Tanzania. Top and tail Uganda with visits to Kidepo, Murchison Falls or the Mountains of the Moon, and Akagera or the Rugezi wetlands of endangered crowned cranes in Rwanda

For the motion of the ocean

Monsoon Coast

Explore East Africa's coast, from the 1000 year old ports in the Lamu Archipelago and Zanzibar to the Comores - an archipelago of islands like a necklace of pearls between Madagascar and Mozambique - each shaped by the seafaring traders of the Monsoon winds, where you can see turtles hatch on remote beaches, dive on coral reefs, feast on seafood, and relax in the warmth of the sun and ocean currents.
