An Elephant Watch Safari
Elephants are special sentient creatures of high intelligence that experience a vast range of emotions much like us. They rely entirely on family for love, comfort, safety and support, that is the social glue that binds them all together, and their shared wisdom - gleaned from decades of life experiences -helps them navigate the many challenges they face in a rapidly changing world.
It's our passion at Elephant Watch Safaris to understand all we can about the secret world of elephants and share this with you. During your stay with us in Samburu, we'll introduce you to many of our favourite individuals and the families we've known since 1997 in this fascinating society of 1000+ elephants.

Thanks to our conservation partner, Save The Elephants, whose field researchers trained our team - we can trace back the family history of each calf born today about four generations.
Our guides know most of the elephants by name and thanks to years of consistent, gentle interactions, the intimacy of our encounters with Samburu's elephants are quite remarkable as the elephants have come to know and trust us and are completely relaxed in our company.
Our greatest joy is watching their lives unfold in un-hurried elephant-time, as they welcome us right into the very heart of their herds.

As we present the Winds, the Storms, the Spice Girls or the Rivers to you, we'll introduce their matriarchs - Mistral, Monsoon, Cinnamon or Euphrates - point out there offspring, and explain the relationships they have with one another.
Elephant friendships are profound and long-lasting. Old ties between cousins and daughters, or late aunts and great grandmothers, continue to influence relationships through time, influencing the younger generations as well as alliances or emnities between unrelated families.
It's unlike any encounter you might've had before and is a joy to behold!
