Into The Wild

Our specialist safaris are where we share all that we love best about the African continent. We blend the soulfulness of Africa with unrivalled access to indigenous communities, profoundly moving encounters with the continent’s most intelligent sentient creatures, and opportunities to get involved in cutting-edge conservation. Each safari is a deeply immersive experience that lives on in one’s heart for years to come.

If you share your dreams with us, we'll do our best to make them come true. Our expertise centres on East Africa but we have plenty of experience and wonderful connections in the south, west and centre of the continent, too. We love exploring Africa’s best boutique safari camps and lodges, private houses and luxury mobile camping spots.  You will find that comfort is never compromised. The food will always be excellent and your drinks chilled. But most importantly, the wildlife and frontiers we show you, will open your heart to the  natural world in an unprecedented way.  We are delighted to arrange all the details for a seamless experience.

You might start your adventure on the slopes of Mt Kenya then head a bit further north for a glorious, soulful week among the elephants of Samburu. Then beyond again, ever deeper into the wild to explore the cradle of mankind in Turkana on a mobile camping safari. You might dive off Indian Ocean reefs, climb Africa’s highest mountain or raft its white-water rivers. You could even walk for days through the bush in the company of nomads and their camels, whose timeless way of life sets exactly the right pace across the unfolding landscape.

We believe passionately that the right kind of conservation-led tourism is an excellent way to preserve Africa’s wilderness areas. Carried out responsibly, it leaves the lightest footprint, brings sustained income to local communities and new skill-sets, and helps cement an ethic of good stewardship, preserving landscapes and wildlife to build a better more secure future for our children.

Adventures we’ve arranged in the past ...

• Magical days hosted by warrior-nomads in north Kenya, enjoying intimate encounters with Samburu's elephants. Then deeper into the wild, exploring the open frontier on a luxury mobile tented safari.

• Meeting the secretive ‘tuskers’ of Tsavo - elephants with ivory tusks of > 100 lbs, in a vast and unspoilt wilderness, staying in family-run lodges for a bit of frontier life.

• The drama of the great wildebeest migration in the Serengeti or Maasai Mara, at one of our favourite eco-camps. Then off to Rwanda’s ‘thousand hills’ for sublime encounters with gorillas in the mist and spectacular view of the Virunga volcanoes.

Crossing the wild Laikipia plateau on horseback or with camels, sleeping under the stars, then up to Mt Kenya’s Equatorial glaciers for a hike, fishing for trout, or a dip in an icy lake.

Uganda's great apes, hiking the Mountains of the Moon, boating on Lake Victoria, feeling the spray of Murchison Falls, and rafting the source of the Nile.

The magic of lesser-visited Tanzania, with Mt Kilimanjaro, Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti ecosystem, and the Selous, Africa’s largest wildlife reserve.
